My jewelry making diary

Hello and welcome!

I decided to start a blog, which I never considered before now. I think of this as a diary of my jewelry making and maybe other stuff. I love the pictures in social media, but it doesn´t seem to function as a diary. It´s maybe less about everyday life. So I thought why not make a diary here, life is short! We all know how hard it is to try to do things just by ourselves. Hopefully this blog will make a me a little bit more accountable, or let´s say, inspired, in my craft and making. I have all these ideas but it´s a different thing to get them done. So let´s see how this goes!

Like many other people who are interested in some craft, I too have hoarded a respectable amount of supplies over the years. My jewelry making started with the love of glass beads and now I have all kinds of beads in several boxes neatly arranged, at least most of them: glass beads, metal beads, wooden beads, different shapes, sizes and colors, new beads, old beads - even some that glow in the dark. Not to mention all the other supplies that are needed for jewelry making. It´s great to have variation - otherwise you notice really soon that there are not enough pieces that fit together - but it can also be overwhelming. It can stop you in your tracks thinking "so what am I supposed to do with all of this?!" I´ve tried macrame jewelry, working with different metal wires, making resin pieces, tried different ways of decorating pendants which included editing my own photos and then doing various test prints to print them out to be used as a picture in the pendant – only to find...

In the making

There´s something strange about creativity. It´s like an idea or an inspiration only lasts for so long. It might be a short time or a long time, but after that it just gets old. I´ve found that when I make something, at one point there comes a stop and then I have to make something else. The problem is that it´s hard to get back to the original thing. It just feels like "that was it". That means I have plenty of unfinished projects in storage. It just feels like they are not supposed to go forward. Here are some of my latest endeavors. I love the imagery in these pendants. I´m curious to see where this thing is headed to.
